WORLD FIRST ALICE IN WONDERLAND EXHIBITION opens in MELBOURNEToday we followed Alice down the rabbit hole at ACMI's wonderland, a world premiere exhibition that celebrates the timeless stories of Lewis Carroll and Alice's adventures on screen. With interactive maps in hand we took a trip through the looking glass into an immersive, enchanted world that draws together a remarkable selection of original behind-the-scenes material. The exhibition Celebrates the screen history of Lewis Carroll's timeless stories — Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There — in an entirely world first original experiential exhibition. Starting at Lewis Carroll's drawing room, we were handed each our own interactive "Lost Map of Wonderland", a physical and digital device unlocking hidden suprises and experiences during our self guided tour of the exhibition and journey through different twists and turns through Wonderland. We quickly lost ourselves in the Hallway of Doors, played at the Queen's Croquet Ground and took part in a magical Mad Hatter's Tea Party that came to life before our very eyes. Along the way we saw more than 300 unique objects sourced from all around the world. Using our interactive maps we were able to create our own avatars and scan our faces onto the projector screen and become the queens cardmen and help paint the roses red to keep Red Queen happy.
