Over nine decades, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York has built one of the largest and most influential collections of modern and contemporary art in the world and for the first time ever NGV has bought some of that collection to Melbourne.

The collection including works which have never been seen in Australia – from a line-up of nineteenth and twentieth-century artists, including artworks by Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh and Andy Warhol.

Throughout the exhibition there are more than 25 children’s labels with helpful facts and information about each artwork and artist, which come in handy while exploring with kids.

The Viewfinder (pictured above) is a great tool that children can take throughout the exhibition to focus in on different artworks and learn about some of the themes in each exhibition space. The tool is broke into eight sections – the eight sections of the exhibition – and prompts children with questions and ideas about some of the works in the space.
