peter rabbit ON THE big screen
Peter Rabbit makes the jump from beloved storybook character to the big screen in this cheeky, contemporary comedy with attitude.
The film starts with Old Mr. McGregor chasing Peter through his forbidden veggie patch and just as he catches Peter he falls to the ground, suffering a heart attack! Peter Rabbit and his cousin Benjamin along with his three sisters Mopsy, Flopsy and Cottontail all celebrate, inviting all the other animals to the house by throwing a huge party, running wild and taking over Old Mr McGregors house.
The party soon comes to an end when Thomas, the great nephew of Old Mr McGregor inherits the property and after failing to receive a big promotion at work, he leaves the big smoke to recuperate in the country. Once Thomas arrives he decides to fix up the house and sell it with the dream of opening up his own toy store back in London. Thomas soon realises that his plan may not be as straight forward as he expected when finds himself surround by wildlife and a significant rabbit problem!
Thomas and the rest of Peter’s friends find themselves making fast enemies of one another while flighting over the land they each believe is rightfully theirs and the affections of the loving yet clueless neighbour Bea.
James Corden voices the character of Peter delivering a delightfully entertaining mix of mischief, adventurous spirit and charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of Peters triplet sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail the movie is cheeky, playful and full of laughter.
NOTE: The film has been widely criticised for one particular scene. When Peter and the four other rabbits, who are being threatened and pursued by Thomas McGregor, adopt a new strategy to fight him: knowing that he’s allergic to blackberries, they use a slingshot to shoot blackberries at him, and one goes directly into his open mouth. He begins to choke, feels an anaphylactic episode coming on, reaches into his pocket for his EpiPen, injects himself with it.
