kids BACK TO school snacks

Picture
Having five kids, two at school and three toddlers at home, I'm always running short on time when it comes to after school snacks.
Picture
My kids are also very fussy so I found Chris’s dips to be the perfect solution with their fun sized dips.
Picture
My kids love the novelty of having their own little bowls, (what kid doesn't) which is reason enough.
Picture
Not only do we have less wastage, I can now make all my kids happy as they have 4 delicious flavours to choose from; Corn Relish, French Onion, Hommus, and Tzatziki.
Picture
Both my older kids love the Tzatziki and I pack it in their lunch boxes with cucumber, carrots and celery which I found that it encourages them to eat all their veggies!
Picture
They also come in a handy 3 pack and have cartoons on them to make it even more fun. They are available at Woolworths supermarkets nationally. For more info and yummy recipes CLICK HERE

Hands on CARDBOARD FUN
with Nintendo Labo

Today we were Super lucky to Create, Explore and road-test the latest Nintendo Labo products from Nintendo here in Melbourne.
Picture
Announced earlier this year, Nintendo Labo is a gaming and construction toy platform developed by Nintendo to be used as an extension to the Nintendo Switch gaming system, which will be released in 20 April 2018.
Picture
Labo uses infrared sensor technology in an innovative way. On the Nintendo Switch each Toy-Con construction there are selectively placed infrared stickers / tap. Working together with the motion controls within the Joy-Cons, the infrared sensor and stickers communicate and allow you to use the Toy-Cons to interact with one another or what’s happening on the Nintendo Switch screen.
Once you turn it on, you’ll find Nintendo Labo has three sections: Make, Play, and Discover. The Make section contains all of the instructional guides for putting together your Toy-Cons; Play is the place where you’ll find all of the relevant mini games (each Toy-Con has at least one); and Discover is the place where you can find out more about how the Toy-Cons work and what you can do with them.
Picture
Nintendo Labo Toy-Cons are DIY – and fun and easy to make. and come with  easy to follow instructions on the Nintendo Labo app on the Switch console, each step was clearly laid out and explained how to fold them, how to bring them together and how long the process is likely to take.  The first thing we built was the race car, which took no less then 10 mins to build  with the help of Josie our Nintendo Tech buddy.
We were also encouraged to customize our Toy-Cons creations, and, the kids love the idea and could have spent hours on this alone. Using colored pens, markers, tape, glue and googly eyes kid could turn them into anything they wanted.
Nintendo Labo offers a range of games to connect to and we got to try out everything within the Labo Variety pack, which included a fishing rod, the dolls house, motorbike, and piano. Kids loved the Piano!
The biggest piece of set is the Labo Robot which includes a giant backpack, straps that fit around your feet, and paddles to hold.
Picture
Our eldest ages 9 absolutely loved this set Punching, stomping and flying his way through a city and destroying everything in his path reaching for the highest score,
Lifting your arms in the air will make your bot fly, crouching turns it into a tank, and lifting your legs up and down makes it walk, while punching, naturally, punches. it was loads of fun.
Picture
We can absolutely recommend Labo Kits and can see this product providing hours of fun for kids and parents and it has a great deal of educational / creative potential.
Picture
We had hours of fun playing and making our creations with our kids and can see other parents doing the same thing, Labo is a Great concept from Nintendo and gets everyone involved and creative with less screen-time and more play. Brings back the child-hood memories of imagination of turning empty boxes into houses, cars and rocket ships.

Protect-a-bed Tencel Mattress Protector

Picture
Being a mother of five children, as you would know accidents happen in the bedroom, i was constantly changing and washing sheets with my toddlers,

This is why i'm grateful i had the chance to  try a product fromProtect-A-Bed because I am sick and tired of buying mattress protectors that don't protect my mattress and constantly leaving stains.

I tested a Tencel® mattress protector for 7 nights . My toddlers are constantly leaving their milk bottles facing down pouring milk all over the mattress! I'm convinced they are purposely doing it to drive me crazy! but with great relief during those nights not once did any milk go through to my mattress.

What sold me was the fact that the mattress protector could be used as a waterproof sheet and my toddlers which aren't  toilet trained could sleep directly on it.

These fitted Tencel® Mattress Protectors feature a silky and cool Tencel® sleep surface, made from natural wood-based fibers, which is best for sensitive skin. They protect your mattress from spills and stains, and you and your family from the allergens caused by dust mites, mold and bacteria.

Each available Protect-A-Bed Range is approved by National Asthma Council Australia. Additionally, the TENCEL Protect-A-Bed Range is also approved by the Eczema Association as Sensitive Skin Tried and Tested.

Protect-A-Bed also have a fantastic range of products including pillow protectors, cot and bassinet mattress protectors and even bath supports for your little ones

Protect-A-Bed offer an amazing guarantee at selected mattress retailers, if you purchase a Protect-A-Bed® mattress protector, together with a new mattress, and both items are shown on the same sales receipt, Protect-A-Bed guarantee the mattress sleep surface against staining for 10 years!

I would highly recommend that you make Protect-A-Bed mattress protectors your first choice you won't be disappointed the results show for them self.

Interesting Facts:
1. SWEAT: Humans sweat up to 1L of body fluid per night and lose millions of skin flakes each night. After 5 years, half the weight of a mattress can be made up of our own body fluids, skin cells, mould and bacteria that seep into our bedding. Yuck!
2. DUST MITES: Dust mites lurk in an unprotected mattress and are a major cause of asthma and allergies. As much as 30% of the population are actually allergic to dust mite. (Despite their tiny size, dust mites produce 10-20 waste particles per day!)
3. INCONTINENCE: If you’ve ever suffered from any form of urinary incontinence, you’re not alone. Estimates are that 4.6 million Australians suffer from some form of urinary incontinence, so it is not an uncommon concern. Night time accidents are an unspoken issue and cause of stress – but it doesn’t have to be.
4. SLEEP: We spend 1 third of our life sleeping. New parents lose between 450-700 hours of sleep in the first year of their child’s life – all parents understand the frustration and loss of sleep that bed wetting can cause for both themselves and their child.
