Christmas Festival Official Tree Lighting Ceremony

Mark the beginning of the Christmas Festival by welcoming Santa to Melbourne, as he arrives at the brand new Christmas Festival hub in Federation Square. Roving performers will entertain children and big kids alike, as the crowd eagerly awaits our brand new Christmas tree lighting up for the first time. Expect a dazzling spectacle.

The Giant Christmas Bauble is back!
Another great highlight during the festival is the Giant Christmas Bauble at Federation Square. It was a huge hit last year, and returns for another season of glittering by day and twinkling by night. You can walk inside this six-metre-high white wonder.
