MOMA AT NGV with kid’sThe National Gallery of Victoria, in partnership with The Museum of Modern Art, New York, presents MoMA at NGV: 130 Years of Modern and Contemporary Art. Over nine decades, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York has built one of the largest and most influential collections of modern and contemporary art in the world and for the first time ever NGV has bought some of that collection to Melbourne. The collection including works which have never been seen in Australia – from a line-up of nineteenth and twentieth-century artists, including artworks by Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh and Andy Warhol. Throughout the exhibition there are more than 25 children’s labels with helpful facts and information about each artwork and artist, which come in handy while exploring with kids. The Viewfinder (pictured above) is a great tool that children can take throughout the exhibition to focus in on different artworks and learn about some of the themes in each exhibition space. The tool is broke into eight sections – the eight sections of the exhibition – and prompts children with questions and ideas about some of the works in the space. must see art work’s at moma nGV1.andy warhol-mariLyn monroe2.pIet mondrian - composition in red, blie and yellow (1930)3.umberto boccioni-unique forms of continuity in space (1913)4.roy lichtenstein-drowning girl (1963)5.tomohiro nishikado-space invaders (1978)6.romÀn ondak-measuRing the universe (2007)7.elanatsui-bleeding takari ii (2007)8.pablo picasso-the architect’s table (1912)9.salvador dali-thE pErsistence of memory (1931)10.new york new york for kidsAvailable at The ngv design storeMy Modern Art Book is the dedicated children’s book for the MoMA at NGV exhibition and is a great tool that children can use to guide themselves through the exhibition.
