Star Wars fans, both past and present, can experience this special event ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in cinemas 14 December 2017. Conductor Nicholas Buc said he has always dreamed of conducting Star Wars.
I am thrilled to be conducting this incredible event and for audiences to experience this film as never before – in full symphonic surround sound – at Australia’s first ever live performance of a Star Wars film concert event. ‘Even though the first Star Wars film was released 40 years ago, the movies and music are just as popular today. The Star Wars saga has had such an impact on both cinema and culture, inspiring audiences around the world with its mythic storytelling, captivating characters, groundbreaking special effects, and, of course, iconic musical scores composed by Williams,’  said Buc.

Legendary composer John Williams is well known for scoring the Star Wars films, beginning with 1977’s Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope), for which he earned an Academy Award for Best Original Score. His scores for Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens were each nominated for Oscars for Best Original Score.
