Peninsula Hot springs with kids

Only an hours drive south of Melbourne at Rye, The Peninsula hot springs are one of Victoria’s first natural thermal mineral springs. Entering the bathing area is like stepping into another world, a relaxing sanctuary like a holiday in Bali (first thing the kids said) very calmed place surrounded by nature and the sound of running water.

5 ways to enjoy the hot springs with KIDS

Who would have thought you can have a Relaxing day at the hot springs with kids, Here are some reasons and benefits of taking the whole family.

1. Soak in the shallow, cooler pools

The family pool, which is located to the right as you walk out of the main Bath House changerooms, includes a large, shallow pool that’s perfect for toddlers to sit and splash around in, while adults can comfortably lie down and relax. The kid-friendly pools are also cooler in temperature, so you don’t need to worry about your little one's overheating.

This area is also has large sunbeds and a convenient family change room.

2. baby baths and barrels

Adjacent to the family pool you can bathe your baby in purpose-built stone basins, while kids big and small can play in half barrels.

3. Relax in the picnic areas

The Bath House contains two lush grassed areas: one in the Amphitheatre, and one near the Moroccan tent – where there are also a few wooden picnic tables. Bring your own snacks or purchase food from the cafe you can have a picnic between bathing sessions or before piling the family back into the car.

4. Sit under the falling water

Nestled to the left as you walk down the main Bath House stairs is a constellation of shallow pools, including a cool pool and one with a bamboo water feature that’s just as fun as it is relaxing.

5. Enjoy the bubble spa couch

Popular with kids: the bubble spa Is the perfect place to lie back while mineral water bubbles fill up all around you – just like in a spa bath.
